Your Comfort Zone. Are You Ready to Move Beyond?

Who in their right mind would want to be uncomfortable?  Isn’t comfort where you want to be all the time?  Knowing exactly what will happen in your life, doing the same thing, day in and day out…..now that’s comforting.  But is it really?

Being safe and comfortable can be important to your happiness, but when you live in your comfort zone ALL the time, you really don’t grow and have new experiences.

Do you do the SAME workout every week and are wondering why you are not getting any results?  Do you have the SAME arguments with your partner and nothing changes?  Do you question yourself if you are in the right job because you do the SAME thing every day and you don’t excited about the work you do?

It’s time to step out of your comfort zone if you want different results!

Most times, it is fear of the unknown that can hold you back. You know you might want something different, but you are afraid of what can happen if you change. What would happen if you stepped out of your comfort zone?  What would happen if you moved into something that is uncomfortable? What would it look like if you trusted and surrendered that you would be ok?

When you take action and move into the steps to where you want to be, it WILL be uncomfortable.  Trust and surrender.  This is the place where you grow and transform.

Ready to step out of my comfort zone in my GoLoco Jersey!

Recently I came into an awareness about myself with my comfort zone and my cycling workouts.  I was really wishy washy with my workouts.  I didn’t like going anywhere other than my regular route.  I did NOT like it when my husband took a different route. I WAS UNCOMFORTABLE!

In my own self reflection of my commitments to myself, this was standing out to me as a place where I wanted different results and it was time for me to step into my fear and my uncomfortableness.

I made a commitment to myself to step into my fear.  This past weekend, instead of my usual easy 20 mile ride on the same route, I made a commitment to a different route that I had not been on before, and to complete a 40 mile route around my community.  As I stepped into my fear, I remembered my commitment to MYSELF and the changes I wanted. I surrendered to the unknown.

I rode the entire route with this message in my head (and my heart) and YES, I WAS UNCOMFORTABLE.  And I completed the 40 miles and found a new route with a different view of the city!

It may have been uncomfortable at first, and I know the more I take this new route with my commitment to myself, that it will become more comfortable each time.  And when it becomes too comfortable, it will be time for a new route, with a new goal.

This experience reminds me of a quote I read last week from my beloved mentor and professor at the University of Santa Monica:

“The most comfortable place you could ever live is outside of your comfort zone, because it is the only place where you are going to find growth. It is the only place you are going to rise up and continue to lift into higher states of consciousness and move more and more into trust, into surrender.”  – Ron Hulnick

What is your experience with stepping into the uncomfortable in your life?  How did it feel?  I’d love to hear from you and how your experience was…or is!   Share your comments below!

Much love + light,

Are you Paying Attention to Signs and Synchronicities?

Do you sometimes wonder if God is trying to send you messages?  Do things happen in your life and you wonder if you are supposed to pay attention to a deeper meaning of what’s going on right in front of you?

Time to pay attention.

When you become more conscious of your life, through intentions or reflections, you will see how the divine messages come to you.  Conscious awareness to the signs and synchronicities that show up in your life can be an eye opener and not just a coincidence.

It took me while, and when I began to pay attention, I was amazed.

My personal journey of conscious awareness began about seven years ago when I was in the midst of what I call my mid-life reflection.  I took a look at my life and asked myself if I was happy.  I could see the chaos and dysfunction in me and around me.  I stopped blaming others for my unhappiness, took responsibility for it and dove head first into the discovery and healing of me.

As soon as I made the shift to conscious awareness, I could finally see my divine path of happiness right in front of me.

I paid attention to my energy and how I felt in the presence of other people.  I learned to let go of those relationships that drained my energy.  I was then guided to more positive and loving relationships in my personal and professional life.  Those relationships are the ones that fueled my positive energy.

When I would ask God for a sign to guide me, it would be shown.  Not necessarily in my timing, but in divine timing.

This was a sign given to me by a fellow USM student. She picked me out of the crowd and gave it to me. It surely was an obvious sign for me!

I had to be patient and trust that I would be guided.  Sometimes the sign would clearly indicate where I was NOT supposed to be.  Then I would change paths instead of trying to force my will on something that was not meant to be.

When you follow the signs that bring you to your divine path, life actually becomes more peaceful and joyful.

When you take the time to reflect on your life, pay close attention to what manifests in your life.  Here are my simple take away tips for you to follow your divine path:

1.      Take quiet time to pray and meditate each morning and set your intentions for your day, not your to-do list, but intentions of how you want to be.

2.      Ask God (or whatever your higher power might be) to show you signs of your divine path.

3.      At the end of each day, take time to reflect and review what messages you may have been shown.

4.      Let go of any negative attitudes, actions and behaviors that no longer serve you or your path.

5.      Acknowledge your gratitude for all the goodness and lessons in your life.

I challenge you to move into these action steps to discover more about your divine path. Begin today!

If you have already experienced the divinity of signs and synchronicities in your life, I’d LOVE to hear about them!  Share here in the comment section below.  If you love this post and think that it would be helpful to your peeps, please share it.  Enjoy your journey!!

Much love and light,

My Quantum Leap: This is MY life, I am who I WANT to be

I had the most empowering experience this past week on a visit to Miraval, the most amazing resort + spa.  As much as I loved the world class facility, the meals, the spa services, the specialists and the amazing staff….the most exhilarating experience came from the The Quantum Leap.

Climbing a 25′ telephone pole and then standing and balancing on a 9″ circle plate.  And then jumping.  Not too easy and scary as hell, but I was up for it!

I had been told that this was a life changing experience and I should do it.  Being the evolved woman I am, and knowing that I grow from stepping into my fear, I signed up.

The following is what I penned right after my experience.  My thoughts were filled with lots of adrenaline and this is exactly how it came out (please excuse the short sentences!):

Wow. Power.  Fear.  Apprenhension.  Easy climb up.  Whoa, the top came quick.  Oh shit.

Look around.  Ask for help.  Trust my team down below.

At the top. How does this work.  Not safe.  Yes safe.

Trust.  Figure it out.  One step at a time.  What feels right. There.

Use my own power.  Stand slow and tall.  Shaking.

Breathe.  Breathe deep.  Relaxing into my power.

Wow. Look at what I can see.  So many possibilities.

Move around to see more.

Balance.  Brave. Powerful.  Strong.

What a view. “I’m living an awesome and bodacious life,

I’m stepping out!”

Whoa!  Freedom.  Letting go.

Trust.  Joy.  Exilaration.  Big ass rush.

I did it!

Do you have a challenge right in front of you?  Is fear holding you back from stepping into either a challenge or to live the life of your dreams?  Are you who you want to be?  Here are some Quantum Leap metaphor tips to get you past your fear:

1.      Acknowledge your fear and have the courage to step into it anyways.

2.      Trust that you will be divinely guided.

3.      Ask for help.

4.      Take one step at a time.

5.      Breath after each step.

6.      Trust.

7.      Own your power.

8.      Acknowledge yourself along your journey.

9.      See the possibilities.

10.   Trust.

11.   Embrace the freedom and joy.

This is your life, are you who you want to be?  I just have to close with this awesome video that sends me right back to my Quantum Leap and Miraval experience.  I hope it inspires you to be WHO YOU WANT TO BE!

Much love + light,

Dealing with Change… When it’s time to Surrender & Trust

Funny how life brings us change.  Sometimes we are prepared for it and sometimes we are not. When we are not prepared for it, we can feel the pain in the change.  However we can flow with the change and feel different as we move through it.

I have watched a few friends of mine recently deal with losing their homes or businesses due to the challenging economy.  They saw the change early on and tried many different avenues to keep what they have worked hard to build up for so many years.  They grieved the change during the process.  So when it was time to let go…..to surrender….to trust….they moved through the process with much more grace.  No kicking, screaming and blaming.  Sad feelings…yes…grief for the change…yes…but with the trust that they would be ok.

In your life, when do you know its time to surrender and not fight the change?  How can you trust that all will be well when it does not feel like it?  Here are a few tips to help you through times of change and uncertainty:

1. Be open to the change.  Stop trying to control the outcome.  Let go and allow the change.  The change may be needed and it is difficult for you to see that while you are in the midst of it.

2. Allow yourself to feel your feelings, grieve the change.  Feel the sadness, cry if it comes up.  When you let feelings out, you don’t need to repress them and hold them in your physical body.  Go through all stages of grief…its important for your future well being.

3. Accept the situation and yourself exactly where you are. Be in the present moment with your life.  Accept what is and move forward.  Don’t beat yourself up!

4. Surrender to your higher power. Challenging as this may seem, it is a key aspect in dealing with change to trust your higher power, however you define that.  God, Source, the Universe…what ever fits for you.

5. Visualize yourself after you have moved through the change. Picture yourself in your mind how you want to be after the change.  It will give you a goal to achieve of how you want your life to be.

6. Trust that all will be well. This is an activity of the heart and soul.  As you surrender to your higher power, know that there are sources taking care of you in your spiritual realm.

7. Consciously create positive thoughts, beliefs and actions about the change. Shift your cognitive processes to the positive and you will feel the difference.  When you feel the negativity creeping in, quickly change it and keep the positivity up!

8. Move with the ebb and flow of change with grace and ease. When you utilize these skills with any type of change, you move with the change like a wave.  You eliminate any struggle and find yourself in a more proactive, less reactive place in your life.

Learning to deal with change is a key tool in your own personal growth and evolvement. Understanding change and how to move through it can only improve the quality of your life.  We live in ever changing times now and these skills can assist you in your personal and professional life.  Remember them, practice them, and you can feel more peace and happiness as you embrace change!

The Power of Intentional Living

You may not realize how powerful your thoughts and ideas are within your world.  Every thought that you have in your brain sends a message to yourself about your reality and moves into your consciousness.  It becomes your reality, positive or negative.

So what would it look like if you have positive thoughts and direction about what you want your life to be like?  This is intention.  Webster’s Dictionary defines “intention” as, “A determination to act in a certain way.”  Intention allows you to focus your attention on what you want to create.

Change your thoughts, energy and actions towards your intention.  This is when you can utilize the power within you. Your personal power, not your ego power.  This is the power that comes from deep within your heart and soul.  When you set your intentions of how you want to be and what you want in your life, you create the blueprint.  Intentions…

…are your personal power.

…are your ownership of your life.

…are your commitment.

…allow you to see the vision.

…precede and inspire vision.

…live between potential and action.

In addition to thinking about what you want, you can activate more energy when you write your intentions down with pen and paper.  Visualize yourself in that space of your intentions.  See yourself moving through it.  How does it feel in your visualization?   Make it come alive within your consciousness.   The more senses you use during these activities just increases the positive energy.  When you are doing these activities you are telling the Universe what you desire and see in your future.

Only then, is the challenging step with intentions.  You must surrender your ego attachment to it and release it to the Universe. If it is in your highest good to manifest, it will show up in your life.  Pay attention to the signs and synchronicities around you.  This is when you realize that you are not alone and your intentions are co-created with Spirit.  Trust and allow Spirit to move through you.

Through the power of intentions, you have the ability to create the life you truly desire.
